This here is my character Nok, he's a type of crow creature that resembles a human. Most of the time he wears a hand made clay mask to cover the upper portion of his face. A few people have been curious as to why [including me, even though I created him.]
The reason he hides his face is because he has a birth defect that made his eyes red [common amongst the more human like of his kind] and since the people in his world are highly afraid of anything unnatural or demonic like he has to wear a mask around anyone that he doesn't know.
I didn't draw it here, but he also wears a thin black cloth underneath his mask in case it ever brakes or falls off.

"My eyes may be the color of blood, but my hands will never be."
He looks sexy without his mask. If we bought him some colored contacts would he stop wearing it? >:3 His face must get sweaty wearing that thing all day. <.<

XD He'd probably be too afraid to put anything in his eyes. In his words "Thin disks that magically change the color's of one's eyes...." this is the part where he backs away "magic is bad."
He's actually quite used to wearing it, even if it's uncomfortable to wear he feels weird when it's off. X3

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

Yeah, I get it.
I used to think it felt weird because the rest of my face would get a sunburn but the part the sunglasses were on.
